We are looking for a self-motivated individual that is looking for a fulfilling career opportunity in the home medical equipment industry as a Manual Equipment Technician at our high-volume Edmonton location. The Manual Technician is responsible for the efficient maintenance, repair and set up for all manual mobility equipment.
This individual should be comfortable dealing with vulnerable people that have various special needs and be empathetic to their circumstances. The ideal candidate would possess the following skill sets:

- Knowledge of products an asset
- Technical and mechanical experience required including use of power tools
- Complete understanding of electronics, wiring and circuit boards
- Customer Service experience an asset
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to lift and move items up to 70 lbs.
- Clean driver’s abstract and valid driver’s license
Responsibilities:
- Repair and maintenance of manual mobility equipment ensuring that manufacturers’ guidelines and specifications are adhered to and that equipment is safe to operate
- Equipment includes wheelchairs, cushions, commodes, etc.
- Troubleshooting problems clients are having with their equipment
- Maintenance and repairs on electrical and electronic devices specific to the equipment
- Set up of new product for Product Consultants, customers and the show room
- Data entry into software system for work orders, invoicing and labour
- Contact manufacturers for assistance with repair guidance
- Quality control checks done on all repairs
- Cross-training required to provide support to the Power Service Department
Requirements
- Minimum 1-year experience as a Manual Technician for mobility equipment preferred
- Experience with Powered Mobility Equipment considered valuable
- Knowledge of AADL an asset
- Product knowledge favoured
- Knowledge of fasteners, metric and standard thread
- Electronics & mechanical background as asset
- Customer service experience
Schedule and Compensation
- Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (40 hours)
- Part time options available (minimum of 24 hours per week)
- Wage will be based on level of experience in the home medical equipment industry as a Manual wheelchair Technician
